Apollo Theatre, London

Apollo Theatre,  Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 7EZ

We visited the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, for the second time since we had needed a Wheelchair Space.

The Wheelchair Spaces are in the Stalls. They have spaces at the end of Rows F, G & Q removing two seats for the each Wheelchair space.

The entrance to both the Theatre and the Access Seats is via a lift, which will hold a person sat in the Wheelchair. Once in the theatre, there is a steep rake and the carpet is not really wheelchair friendly but taking time we managed to get safely to the space. The staff, there were two of them, we very friendly and helpful.

There is an Accessible Toilet, which is nearest to the end of row spaces on F1 & G1.

The view is good as although we were far away, in Row Q, the rake is good.

I would give this a 8/10 rating - anything lacking in the Theatre, due to its  age, is made up by the efforts of all the staff, but it loses points for not thinking of wheelchairs when fitting any new carpet.
