Peacock Theatre, London

Peacock Theatre, Portugal Street, London, WC2A 2HT

This was our first visit to the Peacock Theatre, and it may be our last.

We wouldn't go back unless there was something we really wanted to see, that wasn't going to be anywhere else in the country.

There were  two  Wheelchair Spaces, at the back of the Dress Circle and one at the back of the Stalls.

On arriving at the Theatre entrance we were told we shouldn't be there and we were sent to a door on Kingsway, that, until opened, looked like part of the building’s ventilation system. The staff did not seem happy to see a wheelchair, but we were taken in this Kingsway entrance and to the back of the Dress Circle.

We were told that if we wanted the Bar we needed to go down the stairs. I didn't realise this involved two flights.

We weren't told anything about Merchandise and it wasn't on sale in the Bar.

We realised just before the show began that we also hadn't been told about any Accessible Toilet.

We left at the interval, I didn't feel well and we wanted to go to the toilet. Someone only came to us when we were almost outside, once we had been left at the back of the Circle, when we arrived, we never saw a staff member again.

The view from the Wheelchair Space wasn't great either, as you can't see the top of the stage and there were images projected on the screen throughout the show.

There was also a very bright light shining right on us before the show began, when the lights were up.

I give this Theatre a score of only 1 out of 10
